Pirot, Leskovac or Gornji Milanovac could become an address of one of the plants within the Indian textile company, Sonal. Delegation of Indian businessmen has recently visited departments of former giants, looking for the location for its new department.

They are interested in starting textile production since they could send goods from Serbia customs-free up to up to a billion customers.

Indian textile delegation visited departments of famous Pirot-based Prvi maj which does not operate anymore. They also visited empty halls of former plants in Leskovac and Gornji Milanovac-based Rudnik’s space which has been in bankruptcy.

- If they would open a plant, they would hire at least 1.000 people. They are interested in Serbia for customs-free export to EU, CEFTA, EFTA and Customs Union countries. It is a market with a billion people. They are interested in benefits and incentives which Serbia offers - Milorad Vasiljevic, secretary of the Association for industry of textile, clothes, leather and shoes at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, says.

Indian delegation visited towns which are famous for textile industry and trained people.
